BASIC INFORMATION The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international, inter-governmental organization (founded in 1961), which groups 30 member countries, has relationships with 70 other countries, NGOs and civil society. Best known for its publications and its statistics which cover a wide scope of economic and social issues, from macroeconomics to trade, education, development, science and innovation. Lately, the OECD, more and more, analyses and assesses the conditions in non-members countries, providing its knowledge and experience to new market economies in transition countries. |
