Minister Dacic met with President of Madagascar

1idmpr16519 resultPresident of the Republic of Madagascar Andry Rajoelina in a meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic in Antananarivo reaffirmed the support to the territorial integrity of Serbia explaining that last year his country revoked its previous recognition of the unilateral declaration of independence of "Kosovo" wishing to develop excellent relations with Serbia.

Minister Dacic thanked Madagascar for its support to the territorial integrity of Serbia and congratulated President Rajoelina on his electoral victory, wishing him success in the initiated reform process.

The Foreign Minister said that Madagascar could count that Serbia would support its development and singled out agriculture, health-care, education and trade as potential cooperation areas, stressing at the same time that the establishment of a Joint Cooperation Committee would contribute to identifying concrete projects that our two countries could undertake together.

President Rajoelina informed Minister Dacic of the priorities of his Government and explained that the people of Madagascar had gathered around the idea of development, the country's modernization and building of a prosperous society to which Serbia could undoubtedly help.

The collocutors agreed that there was a huge potential to build partnership between Serbia and Madagascar, the countries linked by decades of trust and friendship as well as that Minister Dacic's visit to Madagascar represented a start of a long-standing cooperation.
