Dacic confers with Sarrazin

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic had talks today with the Special Envoy of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin.

The interlocutors agreed that bilateral relations were at a high level and said that they were pleased with a dynamic development of economic cooperation, in which Germany has become Serbia's number one trading partner in the past several years.

Special Envoy Sarrazin reiterated the firm support of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for the full membership of Serbia and the region in the European Union.

The interlocutors agreed that progress in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina was of major importance for maintaining stability in the region, while Minister Dacic noted the significance of a soonest possible establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities.

Views were exchanged on regional cooperation and current foreign policy issues. The German side announced a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Berlin Process in Tirana, on 6 October 2023, and a Berlin Process Summit on 16 October 2023.
