Đurić and Ferguson Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation between Serbia and the United Kingdom
Minister Đurić underlined that the continuation of regular political dialogue at the high and highest levels is of exceptional importance for the further strengthening of relations between the two countries.
He particularly highlighted the significance of last year’s visit by the then UK Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, during which memoranda were signed that contribute to strengthening cooperation in key areas such as the economy and trade, cybersecurity, the fight against organised crime, and migration.
The Serbian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom for the support it provides to Serbia on its path towards full membership of the European Union.
Speaking about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, Đurić stressed the importance of maintaining the international presence for the peace, stability and security of the Province, as well as the need for UN Security Council meetings on UNMIK to continue to be held regularly and in an open format.
With regard to economic relations, Đurić assessed that economic cooperation between Serbia and the United Kingdom has been developing dynamically, particularly over the past several years, adding that the United Kingdom ranks among the ten largest foreign investors in Serbia.
