Đurić confers with OSCE Secretary General in New York
Minister Đurić underlined that Serbia regards the OSCE as the most important security platform for substantive and constructive dialogue, conveying Serbia’s readiness to contribute to its revitalization in the current geopolitical context, with full preservation of the principle of consensus.
He expressed gratitude to the OSCE for its support to Serbia’s reform process, noting that Serbia maintains excellent cooperation with OSCE institutions, particularly with the two missions on its territory – the Mission to Serbia (OMIS) and the Mission in Kosovo (OMIK).
The Serbian Foreign Minister stressed the necessity of preserving the OSCE’s comprehensive status-neutral approach regarding Kosovo and Metohija, expressing serious concern over the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija due to systematic and continuous violations of the rights of the Serbian community.
He reiterated that Serbia expects the international community to respond and urgently ensure the full rights and security of Serbs, in order to prevent their expulsion from Kosovo and Metohija.
Minister Đurić once again emphasized that Serbia advocates for a positive agenda and for the preservation of peace and stability in the region, underscoring that the advancement of good-neighbourly and mutually beneficial cooperation is a fundamental and unwavering principle of Serbia’s foreign policy.
