Đurić: Serbia was the first country in the region to conduct a partial evacuation from Israel

17. Jun 2025.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, stated today that the Ministry has established a Crisis Response Task Force to coordinate the evacuation of Serbian citizens from Israel and Iran.

“We are the first country in our part of the world to have carried out a partial evacuation. Yesterday, twelve of our nationals were evacuated from Israel. We are working closely with other agencies and ministries—the entire Government is engaged to ensure accurate and timely information. At this moment, around 80 of our citizens in Israel have registered for evacuation,” said Minister Đurić.

Expressing hope that the situation may move toward de-escalation, the Foreign Minister emphasized that regardless of how the developments unfold, Serbian citizens can always reach out to our embassies for assistance.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank and commend our diplomats for their dedication. Let me remind you that just a few days ago, a rocket struck near the residence housing our ambassador in Tel Aviv. Despite the risks, our diplomats in both Israel and Iran continue to carry out their duties with courage—representing Serbia, protecting the interests of our citizens, and caring for their safety. That is how it should be,” concluded Minister Marko Đurić.
