Political consultations held between the ministries of foreign affairs of Serbia and Uzbekistan

Political consultations were held today between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia was led by State Secretary Nemanja Starović, and the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gairat Fazilov.

At the meeting, at which the issues of further development of bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, the parties agreed that it is necessary to further intensify the political and diplomatic dialogue between the two countries, among other things, by organizing mutual visits and negotiations at various levels.

The topic of the meeting was the development of trade and economic cooperation, within which possibilities of creating a sectoral intergovernmental commission were discussed, as well as concluding intergovernmental agreements on attracting and protecting investments and attracting Serbian companies to implement investment projects in Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the foreign ministries of the two countries expressed interest in expanding cultural, humanitarian and interregional ties.

Also, opinions were exchanged on certain regional and international issues, as well as the interaction of the parties within multilateral structures.
