izlozba brazilija_1822016In the organisation of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Brasilia, the exhibition "ItinerariumRomanumSerbiae" was inaugurated on 16 February in the Federal District AssemblyofBrasilia City, and it coincided with the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia. The ceremony was attended by high-level representatives from the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, deputies, representatives of the Diplomatic Corps and the media, as well as numerous figures from cultural and public life. T. Silva, representative of the Council of Curators, deputy W.N. de Roure, Prof Dr M. Korac, Head of the Institute of Archaeology of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Brazil, V. Lazic and Celina Leao, President of the Federal District Assembly,took this opportunity to address the audience. The exhibition garnered much media attention and it was positively assessed by Ambassadors from the EU countries, as well as by the hosts, with the statement that this exhibition was “the best one” since 2010, when the new building of the Federal District Assembly was inaugurated.

1 Udaipur_FestivalThrough the initiative and support of the Serbian Embassy in New Delhi, as well as of the Festival Director Mr Sanjeev Bhargava of Seher, famous Serbian pianist and composer Aleksandar Simic participated in the first edition of the World Music Festival in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Aleksandar performed together with four other musicians, one of whom was renown Indian sitar player Shubhendra Rao.

1 Dan_nezavisnosti_SLAmbassador Vladimir Maric visited the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo on 4 and 5 February 2016. He attended the military parade and other events organized to celebrate the Independence Day of Sri Lanka. During his stay in Colombo, Ambassador Maric met with the President of Sri Lanka, Mr Maithripala Sirisena, and conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes on the Sri Lankan National Day from the President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Tomislav Nikolic.

SvetiSava6A formal ceremony to mark St. Sava's Day was held at the Embassy of the Republicof Serbiain Athens, on January 27, 2016. On this occasion, Embassy issued certificates of appreciation to institutions and individuals that have invested significant efforts in preserving the Serbian language in Greece: municipalities of Glyfada and Chalandri, headmasters of schools from the said municipalities where Serbian is taught, as well as to protopresbyter K. Kouros and to Mr. VassilisMuzkiaris. The students ofSerbianComplementarySchool, along with the Greek students of the Faculty of Philosophy inAthens, who study Serbian as a foreign language, performed a suitable show. The event was covered by the Greek television "Antenna".
