First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today with UN Resident Coordinator in Serbia Françoise Jacob, on the occasion of the completion of her tenure.

Minister Dacic took the opportunity to personally thank Françoise Jacob for her engagement and dedication in performing her duties in Serbia, and wished her success in her future endeavours.

The Minister assessed very positively the cooperation to date with the United Nations team, led by Jacob, especially through the provision of support and assistance in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which, among other things, contributed to increasing the visibility of Serbia in the UN, as well as the UN in Serbia.

Françoise Jacob emphasized that Serbia had made great progress in implementing the 2030 Agenda. She expressed the expectation that the new government would continue the activities to that end. As a particular success, Jacob pointed out the so-called green transition. When it comes to other topics, she referred to the issues of human and minority rights, gender equality, education and trust-building.
