The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Dušan Kozarev, met today with the President of the Halyard Mission Foundation and former U.S. Defense Attaché in Belgrade, John Cappello.

Kozarev expressed gratitude to Cappello for his contribution to promoting shared historical achievements and conveyed the Ministry’s support for the Foundation’s efforts aimed at fostering a culture of remembrance and advancing closer institutional and broader forms of mutual engagement.

The interlocutors welcomed the intensification of political dialogue between Belgrade and Washington, particularly since the beginning of U.S. President Donald Trump’s second term. They noted that the vision of President Aleksandar Vučić, the policies of the Serbian Government, and the proactive engagement of Foreign Minister Marko Đurić have led to a series of new bilateral accomplishments. These include the energy agreement, the expansion of Air Serbia’s destination network to New York, Chicago, and soon Miami, as well as announcements of new Serbian diplomatic and consular missions in the United States and the forthcoming launch of a strategic dialogue between the two countries.
