Acting Secretary General Dušan Kozarev

He was born in Belgrade in 1984.

He graduated in political science at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Belgrade.

In the period from 2012 to 2014, he was an independent expert associate of the Advisor to the President, at the General Secretariat of the Office of the President of the Republic of Serbia and a member of the President's Foreign Policy Team.

From 2014 to 2020, he was Deputy Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

He was on the Negotiating Team for the Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, the Team for the Implementation of the First Brussels Agreement, he served as the Secretary of the Negotiating Group for Chapter 35 in the negotiations on Serbia's accession to the EU, and was also a member of several interdepartmental working groups and an international election observer of the OSCE-ODIHR.

He was Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Washington, D.C., from December 2020.

Prior to serving in state authorities, he worked as a journalist from 2004 to 2012.

He speaks English and Russian.

He is married to Emilija, with whom he has a son Jovan and a daughter Katarina.
