Political relations

The long tradition of friendly bilateral relations is characterised by mutual understanding and interest in improving political dialogue and overall cooperation in the bilateral and multilateral field.

The then President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić attended the opening of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August 2016. In June 2012 he attended the UN Sustainable Development Conference in Rio de Janeiro.

The then First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić attended the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro on 1 January 2019.

 

Economic relations

Brazil is our largest trade partner in Latin America. During 2020 exports amounted to 16.3 million euros, while imports amounted to 60.3 million euros. During 2019 exports amounted to 14.8 million euros, while imports amounted to 56.7 million euros.

The Brazilian Company Aelius from Luxembourg (related person EMS S /A Brazil) won the competition for the sale of Galenika in 2017, and in early 2018 signed the purchase agreement for 93.7% of the capital of Galenika.
