Political relations

The bilateral relations between the two countries are friendly and with no open issues. There is mutual interest for improving political dialogue, as well as developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Economic relations

According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the total trade exchange with Ecuador in 2025 amounted to €64.9 million, of which €3.0 million referred to exports from the Republic of Serbia and €61.9 million to imports.

Bilateral agreements

  • Declaration on the establishment of diplomatic and trade relations between the FPRY and the Republic of Ecuador, signed on 10 January 1956 (The Official Gazette, No. 2/1957 - Addendum; Collection of Agreements 65/1957);

  • Trade Agreement between the Government of SFRY and the Government of the Republic of Ecuador, signed on 5 July 1978 (International Agreements, No. 4/1980);

  • Agreement on cultural, scientific and technical cooperation between the FEC of the Assembly of SFRY and Government of the Republic of Ecuador, signed on 11 November 1980 (The Official Gazette of SFRY, No. 7/89 – International Agreements).
