Political relations
Political relations between Serbia and Indonesia are very good, with no outstanding issues and a positive trend towards further enhancement.
Then President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić visited the Republic of Indonesia in 2016, marking the first visit to Indonesia at the highest level in six decades.
President-elect and then Minister of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto visited Belgrade in July 2024 and met with President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić.
Then Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Nebojša Stefanović paid an official visit to Indonesia in March 2013.
President of the House of Representatives of the Indonesian Parliament Puan Maharani paid an official visit to the Republic of Serbia from 25 to 27 August 2024 and met with then Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić.
Then Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Miloš Vučević visited Indonesia on 20 October 2024 to attend the inauguration of President Prabowo Subianto.
Then Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nikola Selaković paid an official visit to the Republic of Indonesia in May 2022.
Then Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Retno Marsudi, acting as Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, visited the Republic of Serbia in October 2021 to attend the High-Level Commemorative Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), marking the 60th anniversary of the First NAM Conference.
Economic relations
According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, total merchandise trade with the Republic of Indonesia in 2025 amounted to EUR 232.1 million, of which Serbian exports accounted for EUR 7.2 million and imports for EUR 224.9 million.
Indonesian companies have made two investments in Serbia to date: a noodle factory in Inđija, worth EUR 11 million and employing 200 people, and a mushroom production and processing plant, worth approximately EUR 9.5 million and employing 120 people.

Agreement on Long-Term Economic Cooperation and Trade with Indonesia, signed on 12 April 1968 (Supplement to the Official Gazette No. 5/1968).
Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income, signed on 28 February 2011 (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia – International Treaties No. 4/11).
Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on Cooperation in the Field of Defence, signed on 15 September 2011 (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia – International Treaties No. 6/12).
Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on the Abolition of Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports, signed on 27 April 2016 (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia – International Treaties No. 4/17; entered into force on 30 May 2017).
Programme of Cooperation in the Field of Education between the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, signed on 27 April 2016.
Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia on Political Consultations, signed on 23 May 2022.
Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Communications and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia in the Field of Postal Services, which entered into force through an exchange of notes in 2025.
