Political relations
The Republic of Serbia has good relations with the Republic of Latvia, with committment for further promotion and development of bilateral cooperation in the political and economic segment, as well as in other areas of mutual interest.
The visit of the former MFA of Latvia E. Rinkēvičs to Serbia on January 31, 2022, contributed to the intensification of the political dialogue. During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on cooperation between the Ministry of R. of Serbia and the MFA of the Republic of Latvia.  The former MFA of Serbia N. Selaković and the former MFA of Latvia E. Rinkēvičs  had a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in September 2021.

Economic cooperation
Economic cooperation is of a modest scale and takes place exclusively through the exchange of goods. In 2022, the value of trade exchange amounted to 25.68 million of euros, of which exports amounted to 15.25 million of euros, imports to 10.43 million of euros. In 2021, the total exchange of trade amounted to 19.87 million of euros.

Bilateral agreements
Six bilateral agreements are in force, and the following stand out in terms of their importance:
Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Serbia and Montenegro and the Government of the Republic of Latvia on the avoidance of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and property; and
Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Latvia on international road traffic.
