Ambassador Đurić the first ambassador on a non-residential basis

Today, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the USA Marko Đurić, became the first Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis on a non-residential basis.

In a solemn ceremony held at the Governor's residence in the capital Basseterre, Ambassador Đurić presented his credentials to Governor-General of this island state Samuel Weymouth Tapley Seaton.

Ambassador Đurić conveyed to Governor-General Tapley Seton the sincere wishes of the Republic of Serbia to strengthen relations and expand cooperation with Saint Kitts and Nevis, as well as personal regards of President Aleksandar Vučić.

In addition to the meeting with the Governor-General, meetings with Prime Minister Timothy Harris, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mark Bentley, as well as other officials of Saint Kitts and Nevis are also foreseen during the visit.

The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis gained independence from Great Britain in 1983, and is now a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system and a member of the British Commonwealth.
