Ambassador Stefan Tomašević received the medical assistance from Serbia

27. Oct 2021.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Bucharest, Stefan Tomašević, on behalf of our country, and in the presence of the State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Iulia Matei and Raed Arafat, State Secretary at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and head of the Emergency Situations Department, welcomed the contingent of medical aid that the Government of Serbia, on the initiative of President Aleksandar Vučić, sent to Romania for the treatment of patients suffering from the corona virus.

Ambassador Tomašević pointed out that, throughout history, Serbia and Romania have always supported each other, and added that now, when we are facing difficult times that require solidarity, we should be very proud of our mutual support.

Also, the ambassador reminded of the donation of vaccines that Romania sent to Serbia a few months ago and emphasized that the Serbian leadership, due to the very difficult situation in Romania, reacted very quickly, not hesitating to offer what it has in stock.

He wished a speedy recovery to the sick and good health to all, hoping that our two countries will overcome this crisis as soon as possible and continue to build good neighborly relations and cooperation, with the words "Trăiască prietenia și relațiile de fraternitate dintre Serbia și România! Vă doresc multă sănătate, dragi români!" (Long live the friendship and brotherly relations between Serbia and Romania! I wish you good health, dear Romanians!).

Dr. Raed Arafat thanked for, as he stated, the "impressive amount of help" that the Republic of Serbia sent, emphasizing that the Ministry of Health of Romania will immediately start its distribution in hospitals.
