Brasilia: The National Library and the National Museum clad in the colours of the Serbian flag

On the occasion of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia, February 15th, in cooperation with the Embassy of Serbia and the Secretariat for International Cooperation of the Federal District Government, the buildings of the National Library of Brazil and the National Museum of the Republic were illuminated with the colours of the Serbian flag.

The buildings, which are located on the main cultural square of Brazil, will be illuminated until the end of this week, i.e. until February 18th.

The Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Republic of Serbia in Brazil - Ms. Jelena Blažević and the Serbian Embassy staff, in full compliance with the preventive measures against the spreading of the pandemic, marked the Serbian Statehood Day, in the presence of Renata Zuquim, Head of the Secretariat for International Cooperation of the Federal District Government and a number of Serbian citizens living in Brazil.

On the occasion of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia, Chargé d'Affaires Blažević also took part in the "Minute of Ambassadors" project of the Federal District Government. In a one-minute message, she illustrated the potential of Serbia in tourism and numerous other sectors, as well as the history of the Embassy building. Ms Blažević also noted that the building was the first embassy (of the former SFRY) to be built in Brasilia after the decision of the Brazilian government to move the capital from Rio de Janeiro to Brasilia.
