In his first interview on the "SBS Radio", Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Commonwealth of Australia Rade Stefanović spoke about the relations between Serbia and Australia, possibilities for improving economic cooperation, and particularly about strengthening cooperation with the representatives of Serbian diaspora in Australia.

Ambassador Stefanović marked the preservation of ties between the motherland and the diaspora as one of the priorities in future work and pointed out that he would try to maintain regular contacts with the representatives of Serbian community throughout Australia.

In that regard, he expressed the expectation that he would visit all Australian federal states by the end of the year and that, on that occasion, he would meet with the representatives of Australian institutions, businessmen, cultural workers, and representatives of Serbs living there.

Ambassador Stefanović emphasised that the doors of Serbian diplomatic and consular missions were always open for every one of our citizens and expressed readiness to listen to every proposal and initiative given by the Serbian community. He especially referred to the project of building the Republic of Serbia diplomatic-consular complex in Canberra.

Ambassador Stefanović spoke about the great opportunities for cooperation in the field of economy. He informed in detail about the economic successes of the Republic of Serbia, investments, and infrastructure projects in the last few years, as well as about the current economic indicators. He pointed out that macroeconomic and financial stability, along with structural reforms, created a favourable environment for investments, saying that it was a chance for Serbian diaspora in Australia, as well as for the Serbian partners in Australia.

Ambassador Stefanović said that the relations between the two nations had always been historically good and positive, and concluded that he would try to improve and strengthen the bilateral ties.
