01. Jul 2021.
A video conference on health diplomacy was held, organized by the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Matías Romero Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico.

The conference was attended by a Serbian expert from the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of Serbia, Pavle Zelić, and a professor at the Autonomous University of Mexico, María Cristina Rosas Gonzalez.

Serbian expert Zelić said that since the beginning of the pandemic, Serbia has reacted quickly, achieving cooperation with both the countries of the East and the countries of the West.

According to him, no vaccine in Serbia could be approved without a positive assessment by Serbian experts, and that provided additional security to the citizens.

Zelić also stated that Serbia started the process of donating vaccines to countries in the region at an early stage.

Professor Rosas Gonzalez pointed out that human health transcends national borders and includes issues of human rights, equality, security and trade.

Rosas Gonzalez also pointed out the importance of multilateralism, international cooperation and solidarity.

The conference on health diplomacy is the fourth activity realized since the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the two diplomatic academies since the beginning of this year.
