Ljubljana: Exhibition "Handwritten pages from the Great War" opened

03. Nov 2021.
On the occasion of marking the Day of Reconciliation in the First World War and the 103rd anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade, the Serbian Embassy in Ljubljana organized the exhibition "Handwritten pages from the Great War", which was opened in Belgrade and Ljubljana at the same time.

The exhibition by Nataša Jovanović consists of handwritten magazines that our soldiers in Bizerte and our students in Paris wrote and drew by hand in the period between 1917 and 1918.

"These are magazines that were written and drawn in just one copy, many of them have been lost, so the collection is small and very important", said Aleksandar Gatalica, cultural adviser at the Serbian Embassy in Ljubljana, adding that the handwritten magazines were digitized this year and that these paintings are shown at the same time at exhibitions in Belgrade and Ljubljana.

"We announced the exhibition in Ljubljana with posters in busy places, and in addition to our people, we also expect the arrival of Ljubljana residents who saw this announcement", Gatalica said.
