Prague: Vidovdan memorial service held in Jindrihovice

Vidovdan memorial service was held in Jindrihovice, a small town near Karlovy Vary where the largest concentration camp during World War I was located, in which over 7000 Serbs had died.

The liturgy was served by Archbishop Michal of Prague with the dignitaries of the Church of the Most Holy Mother of God.

Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Prague Berislav Vekić laid a wreath and thanked all the attendees for preserving with deep reverence, even after several decades, the memory of the fallen compatriots, as well as all Serbs who lost their lives far from their homeland.

Ambassador Vekić pointed out that by nurturing the culture of remembering the victims, we were reminded of all the war tragedies that should be a warning to people that peace was the only option. Never to be forgotten!

The memorial service was attended by believers of the Serbian Orthodox Church with Father Srdjan Jablanović, representatives of the Czech–Serbian Association, representatives of the Russian Embassy, ​​as well as Serbs from the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria.
