Skopje: Ambassador Jovanović with Deputy Prime Minister Dimitrov

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Skopje, Nevena Jovanović, met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Northern Macedonia in charge of European Affairs, Nikola Dimitrov.

Ambassador Jovanović conveyed to Deputy Prime Minister Dimitrov Serbia's support for the European integration of Northern Macedonia and emphasized that the entire region belongs to the European Union.

Also, the ambassador pointed out that EU membership is the main foreign policy priority of the Republic of Serbia and that only a strong and connected region may lead us faster towards the European integration.

Economic connection is what we as a region should be committed to and to giving the maximum contribution to the success of the joint "mini Schengen" initiative, said Ambassador Jovanović.

Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Dimitrov emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in preparation for membership in the European Union, and the importance of strengthening the stability and resilience of the region.

The interlocutors expressed expectation that the positive trend in bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Northern Macedonia will continue, both in terms of economic and social strengthening of the region, and in terms of building a common European future.
