Skopje: Ambassador Jovanović visited the Staro Nagoričane Municipality

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Skopje, Nevena Jovanović, has visited the municipality of Staro Nagoričane and met with Mayor Zaklina Jovanovska. The two officials discussed the possibilities for improving bilateral cooperation, particularly by establishing direct relations between local governments. They also discussed numerous other issues of importance for the position of the Serbian community living in the Staro Nagoričane Municipality.
Ambassador Jovanović also visited the elementary school “Svetozar Marković”, and delivered books for the school library, as a donation from the Republic of Serbia.
Ambassador Jovanović pointed out that her visit to the school followed Minister Nikola Selaković’s recent visit when he expressed readiness of the Republic of Serbia to help the school with its work, by way of a book donation for the school library as the first step, considering that full-day classes were being held in the Serbian language.
Ambassador Jovanović underlined the importance of education in the Serbian language for members of the Serbian community in the Republic of North Macedonia, and told the students to nurture and to preserve their native language.
