Sofia: Ambassador Jović about the traffic accident in Bulgaria

14. Aug 2022.
Ambassador of Serbia to Bulgaria Željko Jović said tonight that the charge d'affaires of the Embassy of Serbia would visit the children from Serbia injured in the bus accident on the Trakia highway as soon as possible and that further possible actions of the Serbian Embassy would be considered.

Jović said for Tanjug that for the time being there was not much information about the accident of the Serbian bus in Bulgaria, but he confirmed that he learned from his colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria that members of the Ju-Lira folklore ensemble from Batajnica were traveling on the bus.

“I have been informed that there are minor and allegedly serious injuries, but we will be able to talk about the degree of injuries only when we receive information from the only competent institutions, namely the Ministry of Health of Bulgaria and the Stara Zagora hospital. Everyone assured me that there are no fatalities and that there is no one with visible serious injuries, which is the most important considering that our children are involved,” Jović said.

The Ambassador confirmed that all competent institutions in Bulgaria are maximally involved and, according to him, “at least in that segment we can be sure that our children will receive full support”.
