Sofia: Business forum and presentation of the Tourism Organisation of Serbia “Experience Serbia” was held

The Tourism Organisation of Serbia, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Sofia, the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Tourist Organisation of Belgrade, held a presentation “Experience Serbia” and a business forum, with special emphasis on cultural events.

The event was opened by Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia Željko Jović and Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria Irena Georgieva.

Ambassador Jović pointed out that the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Bulgaria were neighbouring countries, connected by great tradition and culture, as well as excellent bilateral cooperation, and he called on the tourist representatives of both countries to use all available resources to promote the tourism industry.

The event was also attended by representative of the Tourism Organisation of Serbia Zorica Jovanov, and numerous representatives of regional and local tourism organisations and tour operators from Serbia and Bulgaria.

Darja Butigan, Market Manager at the Tourism Organisation of Serbia and Saša Stevanović, Executive Director for Development at the Tourist Organisation of Belgrade presented the most important segments of the tourist offer and potentials of the Republic of Serbia through a video presentation.

Representatives of tourism entities of the two countries held individual meetings and shared information of mutual interest in order to begin possible future business cooperation. The structure of the companies was primarily in the field of hotel industry, catering and mineral spa centres.
