Suva: Ambassador Stefanović presented the letters of credence to the President of the Republic of Fiji

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Australia, Rade Stefanović, presented the letters of credence to the President of the Republic of Fiji, Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere, and thereby assumed the duties of ambassador on a non-residential basis in that country.

Ambassador Stefanović conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and emphasized our determination to improve bilateral relations with the Republic of Fiji.

President Katonivere welcomed Ambassador Stefanović and wished him success in his work and pointed to the long history of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Fiji. He asked the ambassador to convey his wishes for further progress and prosperity to President Aleksandar Vučić, the Government and citizens of the Republic of Serbia.

Along with the need to intensify the political dialogue topics such as the opportunities for cooperation on a multilateral level, in the field of environmental protection and climate change, as well as in the field of education, especially within the “World in Serbia” project, were highlighted in the conversation.

The solemn ceremony of presenting the credentials was held at the State Residence in Suva, and Ambassador Stefanović was greeted by the Fiji armed forces honor guard.
