Tokyo: Ambassador Kovač signed the book of condolence on the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe

Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Japan Aleksandra Kovač attended, together with a large number of officials and distinguished persons from the sphere of politics and business, the wake in honour of the former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, held at the Zojoji Buddhist temple in Tokyo.

In the book of condolence, opened at the headquarters of the Liberal Democratic Party, the Ambassador wrote in Japanese:

“On behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia and myself, I express my deepest condolences to the people and the Government of Japan, the family and friends of Shinzo Abe on his tragic death.
Shinzo Abe, an extraordinary man and statesman, has left a special legacy on the global political scene.

He has made an immeasurable contribution to the development of relations between Serbia and Japan, which is why we were honoured to award him with the Order of the Republic of Serbia on a ribbon, for outstanding services in developing and strengthening peaceful cooperation and friendly relations between our two countries.”

The private funeral of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was held in the presence of family members, Prime Minister Kishida and a number of MPs.
