Tokyo: Serbian paprikash on the Japanese market

20. Jul 2022.
The Japanese company Matsubara Foods has started selling ready-made Serbian paprikash, after having previously marketed another traditional Serbian dish i.e. mućkalica, on the Japanese market.

On this occasion, the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Japan, Aleksandra Kovač, said that we are grateful to Matsubara Foods for their trust and willingness to continue promoting Serbian gastronomy in Japan, and that we hope that this dish will be as successful as mućkalica.

She pointed out that paprikash is a popular dish in Serbia, especially in the northern part of the country, where every household passes its authentic family recipe from generation to generation.

On ne the packaging, the paprikaš has the logo depicting 140 years of friendship between Serbia and Japan, and the recipe was provided by the Embassy.

Mućkalica, which the company launched in December 2021, achieved great success on the Japanese market, as evidenced by TV Fuji, one of the most famous private media companies in Japan, which organized the “Serbian Festival” at its headquarters, in the restaurant for employees and served Serbian mućkalica.

Ambassador Kovač attended the Festival and thanked the management of the television for the promotion of Serbian gastronomy, which was followed by a series about our culture and cuisine on the popular YouTube channel of this TV station–World Buzz Cooking.
