Vienna: Ambassador Obradović presented his credentials to the OSCE Secretary General

Permanent Representative of the Republic of Serbia to the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and Head of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Serbia to OSCE and other international organisations Ambassador Žarko Obradović presented his credentials to the OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid.

In welcoming Ambassador Obradović, Helga Schmid pointed out the importance that the OSCE has continuously been attaching to the SEE region, regardless of the current challenges the organisation was facing.

Ambassador Obradović emphasised the importance of regional cooperation and informed the Secretary General about all the positive effects of the Open Balkans initiative, whose summit has just ended in Ohrid and was attended by leaders of Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania, as well as representatives of Montenegro and BiH.

The activities of the OSCE in Serbia and SEE were also discussed. 

Secretary General Schmid invited Ambassador Obradović to contribute to the consideration of topics of interest to the OSCE, taking into account his academic experience. She expressed interest in continuing the dialogue with Ambassador Obradović on all regional issues and issues of wider importance for the OSCE.
