Bilateral Political Consultations between Serbia and Uzbekistan

The parties reviewed key items on the bilateral agenda and the potential for further development of comprehensive cooperation in the fields of economy and investment, infrastructure, energy, education, culture, and modern technologies.

In view of the fact that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, special attention was devoted to intensifying the political dialogue and to forthcoming bilateral activities at the highest level.

Convergence of views was confirmed with respect to the observance of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

State Secretary Jović expressed gratitude for Uzbekistan’s consistent and principled support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia and informed his interlocutors about the current situation and the extremely difficult position of the Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohija.

The two sides exchanged views on the foreign-policy priorities of their respective countries and on cooperation with the most important international and regional actors.
