Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić confuted the statement made by the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, about allegations concerning participation of Serbian citizens in subversive actions aimed at destabilising Moldova, based on alleged information from Ukraine concerning Russian plans.

“We demand that the Moldovan authorities urgently submit all the information they have, because this is the first time we have received such a notification from Moldova," said Dačić.

He added that there are many examples of fake news on the international scene, adding that Serbia’s reputation and interests will not be tarnished, including friendly relations between Serbia and Moldova.

“I issued an order to our ambassador accredited in Chișinău, to urgently seek clarification of this statement by the President of Moldova, and to urgently provide all the information about the people who are suspected of participating in such violent actions”, Dačić said for Tanjug.

The minister reminded that according to the laws of Serbia, any participation of Serbian citizens in armed conflicts abroad is a criminal offense.
