FDPM and FM Dačić spoke with his Moldovan colleague Popescu

14. Feb 2023.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić had a telephone conversation with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova Nicu Popescu, during which he pointed out that Serbia rejects in the strongest terms any allegations regarding the potential involvement of Serbian citizens in subversive acts in Moldova, as previously stated by the Moldovan President Maia Sandu.

Minister Dačić pointed out that Serbia and Moldova are fostering friendly relations and that they have always supported one another in terms of territorial integrity, which is why Serbia is asking the Moldovan state authorities to provide any information about these allegations to the Serbian security services. Serbia is looking for any information about these allegations in order to prevent anyone from Serbia from participating in armed and subversive actions anywhere in the world, as that is a criminal offence under our law.

Minister Popescu said that the cited information was obtained from the Ukrainian intelligence service and that they are checking everything, adding that so far there have been no instances of the involvement of Serbian citizens, and that all information will be exchanged between the security services of the two countries.

The two ministers agreed that maximum efforts should be made towards preserving the good and friendly relations between Serbia and Moldova, and that all negative consequences of this disinformation should be prevented, including everything that is happening related to the football match between FC Sheriff and FC Partizan.
