First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dačić with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Chen Bo

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, met today with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Belgrade, Chen Bo, and discussed the improvement of bilateral relations as well as the current geopolitical issues.

Chinese Ambassador Chen Bo delivered a congratulatory note of the Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Ji, to the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dačić on the occasion of his recent assumption of new office, expressing hope that the current successful cooperation will continue at all levels.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dačić emphasised the continuous strengthening of friendly relations of the two countries hoping for a continuation of the political dialogue at the high ang highest levels as well as strategic partnership between Serbia and China.

Serbian Foreign Minister took the opportunity to express his congratulations on the occasion of successfully held 20th National Congress of the CCP and re-election of the President Xi Jinping as General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party; and that he is looking forward to the visit of President Xi Jinping to Serbia in the near future.

Dačić reiterated appreciation for the support of China in resolving the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, particularly in the United Nations and other international organisations, as well as expectations that this support of vital importance for Serbia will continue in the same spirit.

Interlocutors agreed that one of the top priorities is many-sided development of economic cooperation between the two countries, through the improvement of trade exchange, influx of new Chinese investments and growth of our exports to the People’s Republic of China.
