First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dačić with Ambassador of the Russian Federation

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, met today with Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko, with whom he discussed the improvement of bilateral relations and the current geopolitical issues.

Two interlocutors also considered the situation in the region, and the Serbian Foreign Minister emphasised once again Serbia’s commitment to the policy of peace and cooperation, with the aim of keeping stability in the Western Balkans. He stressed that Serbia will remain committed to dialogue as the only way to seek a compromise solution.

Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko congratulated the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dačić for taking on the new office and took the opportunity to deliver the congratulatory note of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, where it is stated that the Russian Federation is ”ready for the continuation of efficient Russian-Serbian cooperation, inter alia,  in the context of protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia and fair resolution of the Kosovo issue.“
