Jovanović Meets with Students from Northeastern University

The State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nevena Jovanović, today received the third group of students from Northeastern University, who are staying in Serbia as part of a study visit.

Jovanović presented Serbia’s foreign policy priorities to the students, emphasizing that the preservation of territorial integrity and respect for international law constitute the Republic of Serbia’s foremost national objective, and that Serbia remains committed to dialogue, cooperation, and the preservation of regional stability.

Speaking about European integration, the State Secretary underlined that membership in the European Union is Serbia’s strategic orientation. She informed the students about the course of accession negotiations and highlighted the importance of the reforms Serbia is implementing within that process.

Reflecting on relations between Serbia and the United States, Jovanović stressed the importance of continuous political dialogue and the development of cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The discussion also addressed the forthcoming Expo 2027, which, according to the State Secretary, is of great importance for Serbia’s international standing, economic and business development, as well as for presenting the country’s overall potential. The participants also discussed Serbia’s achievements in the fields of the IT industry, artificial intelligence, and the startup ecosystem.

State Secretary Jovanović wished the students a pleasant stay in Serbia and expressed confidence that they would leave the country with positive impressions and valuable new experiences.
