Kozarev confers with Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Dušan Kozarev, met today with Andrea Gabriela Coro Faria, Deputy Minister for Europe and North America at the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, who is in Belgrade to participate in the First Planning Meeting for International Participation at the Specialized Expo 2027.

In a cordial and friendly conversation, both sides noted the upward trajectory of bilateral relations and cooperation between Serbia and Venezuela, attributing it to the excellent communication between the two Presidents, the well-developed political dialogue, and high-level visits.

Deputy Minister Coro Faria conveyed the greetings of Minister Yván Gil Pinto to Minister Marko Đurić, expressing hope that a visit by Minister Đurić to Caracas would be realized in the near future.

Kozarev reflected on his recent visit to Venezuela, thanking his hosts for their hospitality and for the productive discussions held with the Venezuelan Foreign Minister and the Executive Secretary of the ALBA-TCP organization. He reaffirmed Serbia’s readiness to further strengthen ties between the two foreign ministries, including through cooperation between diplomatic academies and young diplomats. Special attention during today’s meeting was dedicated to enhancing economic cooperation, particularly in the fields of agriculture and modern technologies – IT and artificial intelligence.

Secretary General Kozarev informed his interlocutor about the situation in the region, including current developments in Kosovo and Metohija. In response, the Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated her country’s firm support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia. In this context, the two officials also discussed cooperation within international organizations.

Kozarev also spoke about internal challenges Serbia has been facing over the past seven months, emphasizing that despite attempts at a color revolution, Serbia remains firmly on its path of continued economic growth and progress.

With regard to the organization of the Specialized Expo 2027, the Secretary General emphasized the importance of this first planning meeting in enabling delegations to gain a better understanding of the event’s scope. He highlighted that the year 2027 is of great significance to Serbia, as numerous major construction and infrastructure projects are expected to be completed by then, and reaffirmed that Serbia is honored to host such a prestigious global event.
