MFA: Croatian diplomat declared persona non grata

20. Nov 2023.
On 20 November 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia decided to declare Mr. Hrvoje Snajder, First Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Belgrade, persona non grata, in accordance with Article 9 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

During his professional engagement in the Republic of Serbia, Snajder has grossly gone beyond diplomatic norms and breached the said Convention. A diplomatic note has been presented to the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, Hidajet Biscevic, for that reason.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia expresses regret over the diplomat's past actions which did not contribute to the promotion of Serbia-Croatia bilateral relations, good-neighbourly cooperation and overall bolstering of the level of peace and stability in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia expresses the expectation that the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Croatia will be working together on building mutual trust with a view to achieving a joint European future.
