First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with the representatives of the civilian part of the Ohio National Guard delegation, headed by Director of the Ohio Department of Development Lydia Mihalik.

The interlocutors exchanged views on modalities for the further promotion of bilateral relations, primarily in terms of economic cooperation.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dacic pointed out that Serbia was committed to strengthening all-round relations with the United States, to which the long-term successful cooperation with the Ohio National Guard was making a strong contribution, and also that Serbia was ready to continue joint engagement with the aim of further strengthening the civil-military and civil-civil components through the State Partnership Programme with Ohio, along with a series of military-military cooperation activities.

The collocutors agreed that continuous intensification of economic cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the United States was a common goal.

Minister Dacic emphasized that Serbia had a strong interest in taking cooperation with Ohio to a significantly higher level, so that, as in our relations with the United States, economic cooperation would be one of the key pillars, and added that the Memorandum of Understanding, which the Ohio Department of Development signed today with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS), would certainly contribute to that end.

“The Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation, signed by CCIS and the Ohio Department of Development, will help in connecting our business communities. The Republic of Serbia and Ohio, in accordance with their economic priorities that overlap in many spheres, will be able to intensify mutual cooperation, especially in key areas such as the digital economy, the agricultural and food sector and green energy”, Minister Dacic said.
