Minister Dacic wishes a happy New Year to Serbian citizens

31. Dec 2023.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic extended warm congratulations wishing a happy New Year in 2024 to all citizens of Serbia.

“Dear fellow citizens,

We are at the tail end of a year in which Serbia faced many challenges, perhaps the biggest in the last few decades. Once again, our country was put to the test as to whether it is strong, stable and united enough to survive the fierce whirlwind that the whole world has been caught up in.

Throughout the year we have heard news about tragic conflicts, victims and destruction, about the shortage of food and energy, about the major crisis that has affected even the wealthiest countries in the world. Serbia resisted those tumultuous and difficult challenges, preserved its stability, peace and continued to progress at a brisk pace.

Despite ever greater pressures, we have preserved our sovereignty, our Kosovo and Metohija and our people living there.

We have an unwavering will to continue pursuing a policy that puts Serbia first, in 2024. And not only the will, but also your enormous trust, as you have reaffirmed that it is a stable, strong and prosperous Serbia that you want.

I am certain that in the coming year we will realize and preserve all our most important state and national interests. That this will indeed be the case I am convinced by our common strength and ability to gather around clear goals and continue on the same path that has brought us peace and progress thus far.

I wish you to spend the upcoming holidays in family harmony and good spirits, with faith that the New Year - 2024 - will be another year of our joint successes and victories.”
