Spouse of the President of the Republic of Serbia Tamara Vucic meets with Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of Malaysia

In the talks held as the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of Malaysia is about to end his tenure in the Republic of Serbia, the spouse of the President of the Republic of Serbia Tamara Vucic thanked Mr. Tarmizi for his active engagement in our country so far.

She emphasized that Chargé d'Affaires a.i., Mr. Tarmizi, with his devoted efforts, had significantly contributed to the promotion of overall bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and Malaysia.

Furthermore, she pointed out the importance of the Republic of Serbia's accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia last year. She expressed her belief that the Republic of Serbia, including through this format, would strengthen its presence in that part of the world and at the same time intensify cooperation with friendly countries of that region, including Malaysia.

Reflecting on the activities of the Embassy of Malaysia in the Republic of Serbia, she noted that she especially appreciated the efforts made by Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Tarmizi in terms of promoting Malaysian culture and traditions in the Republic of Serbia, which she assessed as significant for the further strengthening of ties between the two peoples. In particular, she praised the holding of the event "To know Malaysia, is to love Malaysia", the opening of which she personally attended.

The interlocutors agreed that there were numerous potentials for the enhancement of bilateral cooperation, especially in the economy, but also in the fields of culture and education.

The Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of Malaysia in the Republic of Serbia said that he would carry the fondest memories and impressions from our country, conveying his deep gratitude for the cooperation and support lent by all the institutions of the Republic of Serbia during his term-of-office.
