State Secretary Nemanja Starović on a working visit to Armenia

State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nemanja Starović, was on a two-day working visit to Armenia, during which political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and Armenia were held.

At the consultation led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Parujr Hovhannisyan on the Armenian side, the level and development of bilateral relations was positively evaluated, after which both officials confirmed the existence of the great potential for development in different areas. It was agreed that the following steps would include deepening cooperation and ties between the two countries and friendly peoples. The interlocutors also discussed numerous current regional and international issues.

During his stay in Yerevan, the State Secretary had a courtesy meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan, in which the importance of the development of political dialogue and mutual opening of diplomatic missions in the two countries was pointed out.

Starović met with several Armenian officials - Minister of High Technology Robert Khachatryan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan and Deputy Minister of Economy Armen Arzumanyan, with whom he had substantive discussions on the possibilities of developing sectoral cooperation.

Also, Starović visited the headquarters of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Etchmiadzin and spoke with the director of international relations and protocol, archbishop Natan Hovhannisyan.

The State Secretary visited the Museum of Genocide and the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Centre, where he laid a wreath in memory of the Armenian victims, and together with representatives of the local authorities from Armavir province, he laid a wreath at the "Broken Wing" monument, which was erected in memory of the seven Serbian pilots who died in the humanitarian mission of delivering aid after the catastrophic earthquake in Armenia in 1988.
