Announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia

06. Jul 2021.
The graffiti "Serbs on willows" was written in Latin on the building of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in Plovdiv last night.

We call on the competent authorities in Bulgaria to react as soon as possible and find the culprit of this disturbing incident.

The Embassy of Serbia in Sofia officially informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria about this act of vandalism and an unequivocal act of hatred.

It is a shout under which the most monstrous mass crimes were committed against the Serbian people in the Second World War on the territory of the former Nazi puppet state, the Independent State of Croatia, and which was a chauvinistic motto during the expulsion of the Serb population from the Republic of Croatia in the so-called operations "Flash" and "Storm".

We are convinced that this is not a provocation sent by Bulgarian citizens, since our countries and peoples have established a high level of trust and friendly relations, which is exactly why we believe that a quick and decisive reaction will shed light on the incident and bring the perpetrator to justice.
