Đurić confers with President of Ghana – A Testament to the Historic Friendship Between the Two Countries
Minister Đurić expressed his satisfaction with the meeting and conveyed the greetings of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to the President of Ghana, along with an invitation to visit Serbia in the near future.
“This visit reaffirms the historic friendship between our two nations,” Minister Đurić stated.
Reflecting on his meetings with Ghanaian officials, which took place in a spirit of friendship and warmth and were marked by exceptional hospitality, Minister Đurić emphasized that he had the opportunity to hear President Mahama’s vision for Ghana’s development—one that bears many similarities to the path Serbia embarked upon twelve years ago.
The Serbian Foreign Minister underscored that Serbia and Ghana share common positions on numerous international issues, including their commitment to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity. He extended his gratitude to Ghana for its continued and principled support to Serbia regarding the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, as well as in international organizations.
Minister Đurić also recalled the participation of Ghanaian representatives in the 2021 high-level gathering in Belgrade marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Non-Aligned Movement, noting that this once again affirmed the friendly relations between the two countries, as well as their shared commitment to peace, solidarity, and tolerance—values upon which the Movement itself was built.
He expressed particular satisfaction with the signing of bilateral memoranda in the fields of culture and sports, which will serve as a foundation for further institutional cooperation in these areas.
Both sides agreed that there is significant potential to deepen cooperation in other sectors as well, including defense, agriculture, infrastructure, and information technology.
