Đurić Confers with Special Envoy of the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia
Đurić expressed his satisfaction at the opportunity to welcome the Cambodian delegation to Belgrade on the occasion of this important anniversary of the Movement’s founding conference. He noted that, through its participation in the gathering, Cambodia had reaffirmed its commitment to the fundamental principles of the Non-Aligned Movement, which remain equally relevant today.
In the spirit of the anniversary, Đurić proposed further intensifying political dialogue as a means of providing additional impetus to bilateral cooperation and reiterated his invitation to Cambodian officials to visit Serbia.
The Serbian Foreign Minister emphasised that the reopening of the Cambodian Embassy in Belgrade had also contributed to strengthening ties between the two countries.
He thanked Cambodia for its support for Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and underscored Serbia’s commitment to the peaceful settlement of disputes and to upholding international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
With regard to economic cooperation, Đurić noted that Serbia and Cambodia had achieved positive results, while emphasising that there remained considerable scope for further progress. He particularly highlighted the potential for enhancing cooperation in agriculture, tourism, and information and communication technologies.
Đurić concluded that the Specialised Expo 2027 in Belgrade next year would provide another valuable opportunity to further strengthen ties between the two countries.
