Đurić in Washington at the Annual Conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee
At one of the main sessions, AIPAC President Bernard Kaminetsky paid special tribute to Minister Đurić for his efforts toward securing the release of hostages in Gaza, among them the young pianist Alon Ohel, a dual Serbian-Israeli national.
Kaminetsky also highlighted the Serbian Foreign Minister’s efforts to enhance ties between the two peoples, expressing appreciation to the leadership of the Republic of Serbia for hosting an AIPAC delegation in Belgrade.
“We thank the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and former Ambassador for his steadfast support, moral clarity, and dedication to strengthening the bonds between our nations,” the AIPAC President stated.
Speaking about the importance of the event, Minister Đurić underscored that participation in the AIPAC conference represents an important opportunity for Serbia’s voice to be heard at one of the most significant political forums in Washington, as well as to present the priorities of Serbian foreign policy and the efforts undertaken by the country to advance international cooperation.
On the margins of the conference, Minister Đurić held a number of meetings with representatives of American political and business circles, exchanging views on further enhancing Serbia’s bilateral relations with the United States and Israel.
The evening session of the conference was marked by a performance by the young pianist Alon Ohel, as well as a moving testimony by his mother, Idit, regarding the family’s efforts to secure Alon’s release.
