Friendship between Serbia and Cambodia lasting for 65 years

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, began bilateral meetings with heads of delegations attending the gathering marking the 60th anniversary of the First Conference of the Non-Aligned in Belgrade, with a meeting with the Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and the special envoy of the Government of Cambodia, Ouch Borith.

Selaković reminded of the 65-year long tradition of friendly diplomatic relations, assessing that it is necessary to work together on improving the current political dialogue and high-level communication.

According to the head of Serbian diplomacy, visits at the high and highest level would contribute to that, and he expressed expectation that the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia will pay an official visit to Serbia in the coming period. Also, Minister Borith invited the head of Serbian diplomacy to visit Cambodia and emphasized the readiness of the Prime Minister of Cambodia to visit Serbia.

Selaković thanked for Cambodia's firm position on the issue of Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as for the support it provides to our country in international organizations.

Minister Selaković conveyed that it is necessary for Serbia and Cambodia to intensify economic relations with Cambodia, and the interlocutors also discussed specific areas of possible cooperation.

Also, they discussed the improvement of cooperation in other areas, and the head of Serbian diplomacy said that the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation in the field of tourism would contribute to the strengthening of cooperation.
