Minister Dačić meets Congressman Swalwell

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dačić, met earlier today with Congressman Eric Swalwell.

Minister Dačić expressed his satisfaction with the Congressman Swalwell’s visit to Serbia within the cooperation programme established in 2015, enabling visits of the members of the U.S. Administration and Congress to get better acquainted with the opportunities in Serbia. On this occasion he pointed out that our party seeks to further improve cooperation with the representatives of all the authorities of the United States, and particularly the U.S. Congress.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dačić, pointed out that the two countries have long-standing relations that were in the most difficult moments characterised by a strong and solid alliance, which is a fact we must keep in mind during the promotion of current bilateral relations.

Congressman Eric Swalwell expressed support of the United States of America to the dialogue within the process of normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina. He welcomed the ongoing efforts of Serbia to improve economic opportunities and pointed out that the U.S.A. are trying to provide the necessary support along the way.

The engagement of ambassadors in both countries was mutually appreciated, and Congressman Eric Swalwell particularly praised the commitment of Ambassador Marko Djurić to improve the relations between the two countries, which resulted in a significant improvement in reputation of Serbia in the U.S.A.
