Minister Dacic meets with the newly-appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro on the fringes of the OSCE ministerial meeting

The first meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and the newly-appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro was held in Skopje on the fringes of the ministerial meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Filip Ivanovic discussed bilateral relations, European integration, geopolitical issues, the situation in the region and other key topics for the citizens of the two countries.

Minister Dacic took the opportunity to express his satisfaction with the higher degree of cooperation between the officials and institutions of Serbia and Montenegro and pointed out the need to work on the additional strengthening of economic cooperation and infrastructural connectivity.

Dacic also emphasized that Serbia would continue to promote stability in the region, pursuing a policy of peace and cooperation in the Western Balkans, as well as that it remained committed to the further development of good-neighbourly relations with Montenegro.

The two foreign ministers expressed the expectation that the two countries would continue to resolve all open issues through dialogue in a mutually acceptable manner, because good relations between Serbia and Montenegro were important not only for the citizens of the two countries, but also for overall stability in the region.
