13. Jul 2021.
Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, talked on the phone with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kenya, Raychelle Omamo.

Selaković stated that bilateral relations are very good and friendly, that they are characterized by mutual understanding and trust, but that we also expect the continuation of improved cooperation and further intensification of political dialogue.

The Minister underlined that our country is proud of the long history of relations and cooperation that dates back to the period of the SFRY and joint activities in the Non-Aligned Movement.

On this occasion, the head of Serbian diplomacy expressed hope that the Kenyan delegation will be present in Belgrade in October, when the 60th anniversary of the first Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement will be marked.

The Minister especially thanked for the principled position of Kenya regarding the non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo, emphasizing that he expects the two sides to continue to help each other in international forums in accordance with their national priorities.

Selaković assessed that the economic cooperation is insufficiently developed, but also pointed out the significant potentials for its improvement, especially in the field of agriculture, pharmacy, special-purpose industry, construction, heavy industry and energy.

Selaković also mentioned cooperation within the project "World in Serbia" and said that Serbia intends to increase the number of scholarships in the next academic year and thus provide an opportunity for new generations to be educated in increasing numbers at faculties in Serbia.
